About Us

Sanibel Air Conditioning has been serving the Islands of Sanibel and Captiva since 1988. We started out with 1 employee and a company vision ”To provide our customers with quality, reliable service when you need it, and remembering our customer’s names.”

Today, we have grown to 14 members of staff and we still believe in the same company vision.  We focus exclusively on providing homes and businesses on Sanibel and Captiva with the best quality air conditioning service available in the market today.

We believe that the service we offer our customers is the best around! Sanibel Air Conditioning were voted the ‘Best Heating and Air Conditioning Company 2010″ in the Best of the Islands Awards – and have been since 1999.

We are passionate about our work and focus on doing a quality, reliable and affordable service. All our service engineers are fully trained and have continued to hone their skills through manufacturer training and regular workshops.

We have been a proud member of the Sanibel & Captiva Chamber of Commerce since 2003.

Bryan Hayes, President and managing partner

I have been with Sanibel Air for over 20 years.  I originally planned on being a teacher, but my path was altered when I began working for my father in the a/c industry to help pay for college. I am the current license holder for the corporation. I have a wife and four children, ages 10-16.  In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, coaching youth sports, fishing or enjoying the shooting sports.

Todd Hayes, Vice President and managing partner

After graduating from the University of Central Florida in 1999 with a Bachelors Degree in Finance, I decided to work in the family business.  I am responsible for the day to day operations of Sanibel Air Conditioning, Inc.  My wife Jennifer and I have two children. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with family, fishing, playing softball and coaching my kids soccer and baseball teams.

Carol Schapiro, Office Manager

I am originally from New York and moved to Florida over 20 years ago to get away from the cold and snow. I brought with me over 30 years of office management experience. I have been with Sanibel Air for over a decade, and being a part of this team feels like family. It is a very relaxed, but also a productive atmosphere. When not working, I spend time with my kids and grandchildren. I also enjoy traveling and go on multiple cruises per year. In addition, I’m also very involved in various business women’s associations here on the island.

Jenny Sherman, Administrative Assistant and Receptionist

I was born and raised in southern New Jersey, and I bring 10 years of service related business office skills with me to Sanibel Air.  My duties include: answering the phone, inputting data and setting up service agreement checks for our clients.  I’m new to Sanibel Air, but really enjoy the atmosphere – all of my co-workers and customers have been very nice. During my time off, I spend time keeping up with my four children: My oldest is a non-commissioned petty officer in the U.S. Navy, and I’m incredibly proud of his accomplishments. I also have another son and daughter that still live in N.J. and between the two of them, they’ve given me three fantastic grandbabies. I also have an 11-year-old daughter who still keeps me hopping.

Chris Brightman, Install Manager

I’m a Florida native and have been with Sanibel Air for almost 10 years.  I’m certified in Air diagnostics, OSHA, EPA. In addition, I also have my refrigeration card and can work with heat pumps, environmental systems and zoning. I’m constantly striving to further my skills and am presented with never-ending opportunities to take new classes. I enjoy working in a family business and Sanibel Air has been a great place to work for.  Here everyone works as a team, especially when the heat’s on and people are suffering.  Whenever I’m not working, I enjoy playing softball on the company team and following my Florida Gators. I love to fish and play golf and going to all types of other sporting events.

Greg Barker, Sales Manager

I was born in Tampa, FL where I spent a good deal of my youth. I relocated to Fort Myers after school and began my career in the service industry. I worked my way up to district manger of a major, national automotive repair center.  I am EPA certified, ASE certified, and have been through countless training classes and seminars in all aspects of mechanical operations. During my free time, I like to spend time with my wife and two children. My kids have both been involved with basketball, and I follow the sport very closely. I also enjoy fishing and boating in my free time.

Joey Gill, Air Conditioning Installer/Technician

I’m originally from Orlando, FL and moved to Fort Myers in 1990 with my mom and dad (Barb and Earl) and my brother and sister (Jesse and Katie). I started working for Sanibel Air in the winter of 2005 and have been here for four years. I came to Sanibel Air not knowing anything about air conditioning, but over the years have learned a lot from Todd and Bryan Hayes.

Eric Gouder, Air Conditioning Installer/Technician

Originally from Michigan, I moved to Fort Myers in 1998 to be closer to family.  I have worked for both Ford Motor and G.M. as an air conditioning technician. I enjoy the challenges I face on a daily basis while working in the a/c field. It’s different every day. When not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife planning the birth of our child and playing pool.

Jeff Miller, Electrician

I was born in Ohio, and after graduating from a trade school, I relocated to Florida to be closer to some of my family. I have a 13-year-old son and my mom lives in Cape Coral. When not working, I like to spend time with my son or family and go fishing. Even though I came from a large company, I really enjoy working for a small group that really cares about you.

Rigoberto Aguier, Electrician

I am originally from Cuba, but have been in the states for many years.  When I first came to the U.S. we lived in New Jersey. I found Jersey to be too cold, so we relocated to Florida. I studied extensively in Cuba to become an electrician. I knew that I wanted to make a better life for my family and saw that opportunity in the trade industry. I enjoy the diversity that working on Sanibel and Captiva has offer.  When not working, I like to spend time with my children, going fishing and salsa dancing.

Scott Rowan, Repair/Inspection Technician

I have been with Sanibel air Conditioning for over 7 years, and I head our service program.  Just in case you were wondering, but I’m usually the friendly face that you will see when having your routine maintenance done. And I’ll be the guy to tell you that you hadn’t had your air filter replaced for some time (if that’s the case of course). I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter.  And I’ve also has been known to play a little Texas hold ‘em from time to time. But that is only just a little . . .
