Have you been thinking about adding that new hot tub or a sauna (though I can’t imagine wanting a sauna on Sanibel myself) to your beautiful home and backyard? After all, these items are always a great source of entertainment and relaxation that many of us would like and want to have in our homes. Naturally, these types of upgrades also require some electrical work, because they are not your standard issue plug into the outlet devices, and have to be installed with safety and proper wiring in mind. Large items like these require their own dedicated outlets, additional circuit boards and new wiring. The installations can be challenging and I genuinely discourage anyone from treating it as a DIY project, unless you or a friend that is helping you is a licensed and insured electrician. In the case of electrical work with devices that hold water, other life-threatening dangers are involved. Improperly installed electrical devices can also be damaged if something is wrong with the wiring, and you can say goodbye to the manufacturer’s warranty which they will not honor if the problem is your fault. Now, no one wants to spend thousands of dollars on a device only to ruin it by a faulty installation.
So, you want to upgrade the entertainment value of your home, please take care and ensure that it’s done properly and with your safety and investment in mind.
