Why is my air conditioner not cooling/heating?
Check your breakers in the main electrical panel. Also if you have a De-Humidistat make sure it is set according to the instructions (You know if you have a De-humidistat if you have another control on the wall next to your thermostat–Honeywell is the most popular brand)
What do I do if my drain line is clogged?
This should be looked at by a professional. You could try to clear the clog with a wet/dry vacuum hooked up to the drain line but chances are you have a buildup in your drain pan as well that should be cleaned.
Why does it smell like something is burning when I turn the heater on?
Most heaters in South Florida are electric strip heaters. These heater strips build up dust during the summer months. The first time you turn your heater on the dust burns off the strips and can cause a bad smell and some smoke.
How often should I change my air filter?
Equipment manufacturers and HVAC contractors recommend replacing your filter monthly but it depends on the home. Some homes don’t have a lot of dust where others may have pets that shed.
Do I need internet to use the NEST thermostat?
You can have a Nest thermostat without internet but you will not be able to remotely control the thermostat with a smartphone or computer.
